KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
GARMENT CONSTRUCTION

Assemble garments from provided patterns with precision and care.

Use industrial sewing machines and other tools to ensure high-quality finishes.

Sew a variety of textiles, including knitwear and printed fabrics, while adhering to specific designs.
FITTING AND ALTERATIONS

Perform fittings and make necessary adjustments to achieve the perfect fit.

Alter and repair garments as needed to meet customer or design requirements.
FINISHING
-
Apply finishing touches such as hems, buttons, and decorative details.

Ensure garments are completed to ABANTU’s high-quality standards.
QUALITY CONTROL

Inspect finished pieces for any imperfections in stitching, construction, or finishing.

Address any issues promptly and suggest solutions for improvement.
COLLABORATION

Work closely with the design team and garment technicians to ensure design accuracy.

Contribute ideas to improve garment construction techniques and efficiency.

Train and mentor less experienced team members when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
-
Proven experience as a Seamstress, with strong garment-making skills.

Ability to sew a wide variety of fabrics, including printed and knitwear will be a bonus.

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Experience working with industrial sewing machines.

A willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and processes.

Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with designers and other team members.
